The group, in front of Subin's family home
Today is a travel day for the group. But the morning began with some festivities, as well as some tears. Peter purchased some bottle rockets, and we all took a turn launching them. The bigger ones were launched from a bottle, but the small ones were launched in the traditional Thai manner – from our hands. The liability waivers come in handy here. It’s actually quite safe, even if some of the rockets went a bit ‘off-course’.
Then it was time to say good byes. This was tough, and tears were shed, saying good bye to our hosts. Even though we stayed here only 4 nights and 5 days, lifelong connections and close friends were made, and it’s always hard to say good bye.
We then headed by van to our next destination, Sukhothai, another long ride. We arrived in the evening to a very nice resort for a one night stay. Many of us went swimming, and some of us had Thai massages in our rooms. It was nice to be pampered a bit after our sometimes rustic lodgings at the village, but we all still missed the lifestyle and our friends at the village.
